As an FP&A Manager at Ichnos, you will be a key member of the Global finance team. You will partner with functional leaders to prepare budgets, forecasts, monthly financial analysis, and reporting, and provide ad hoc analysis for decision-making support. You will be expected to have in-depth knowledge of the business function to provide accurate forecasts and review underlying assumptions. You should have a strong analytical background with strict attention to detail. You are a highly motivated, technically proficient person with a strong sense of ownership and business ethics to deliver quality work daily. As an experienced finance professional, you will be expected to drive process improvements within the finance organization. Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry experience required.

This is an exempt role and is not eligible for overtime. The good faith base salary range for NY is $125K – $175K.  This is a hybrid role; 3 days in NYC office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support business teams in the annual operating budget and periodic forecast processes.
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis of actuals to forecast and budget, explain and investigate any major discrepancies, and understand key business drivers.
  • Participate in the monthly close process (accruals and reviews) and review meetings with business partners.
  • Prepare various presentations including but not limited to monthly operating reviews, quarterly board meetings, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Act as liaison between the business units and accounting teams.
  • Identify business process improvement opportunities, develop solution options, engage management and stakeholders to align on decisions, implement approved plans, and revise desk-level procedures to reflect changes.
  • Research and respond timely and accurately to business partner inquiries.
  • Business Partnership and Collaboration: The candidate must demonstrate an ability to build strong relationships with Finance and non-Finance business partners. The candidate should be a proactive leader exhibiting strong influencing capabilities with business partners and a willingness to maintain open and transparent communication across the organization.
  • Support business functions by creating business models for new assets.
  • Support business development by creating business models for possible licensing or partnership deals for deal and decision-making.
  • Ad hoc projects.

Required Skills

  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry experience required.
  • 4+ years of experience in a finance role in corporate finance; experience supporting any of the following areas of business desired: G&A, R&D, consolidations, commercial (sales), supply chain (manufacturing & logistics).
  • Detail-oriented with attention to process and documentation in addition to accuracy.
  • Strong Excel (VBAs, macros, PivotTables, Conditional formatting, Sumifs, Sumproduct, etc) and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Strong written communication skills to convey monthly reporting to stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate US GAAP and finance terms to non-accounting/finance partners.
  • Ability to manage deadlines from multiple project streams.
  • Proficiency with Enterprise level Accounting and Planning software desired; Planful and SAP Business ByDesign preferred.
  • Hands-on; must have a willingness to become involved in the details of the operations to ensure accurate information is provided to the business partners.


BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Managerial Econ, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
